In his new role, Cardona is responsible for overseeing Thompson Chicago’s day-to-day operations for the 247-room property as well as the property’s acclaimed restaurant, Nico Osteria.

Cardona brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to his executive role at Thompson Chicago. A leader in the industry, Cardona has served as General Manager with several noteworthy properties including Le Meridien Chicago and Virgin Hotels Chicago. Cardona’s experience with top lifestyle properties also includes the SLS South Beach, Soho Beach House and Park Hyatt Chicago, where he led the team to achieve one Michelin star for NoMi as director of food & beverage.
