Luxury Resort Honored with Prestigious Award for the First Time

Colorado Springs, Colorado, September 2018 … Garden of the Gods Collection, Colorado Springs’ luxury resort and a Gemstone Collection property, has been honored with its first designation as a AAA Four Diamond property. Scott Marble, interim general manager for the luxury resort, made the announcement.

“Garden of the Gods Collection has seen a complete transformation through our owners’ vision and has been brought to life by the dedication and tireless work of our staff,” said Mr. Marble. “We are humbled and honored to receive this award.”

Perched atop a mesa in Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods Collection (GOG) showcases expansive vistas of the Rocky Mountains, snow-capped Pikes Peak and the awe-inspiring National Natural Landmark, Garden of the Gods Park, featuring astonishing views of vertical rock formations dating back 250 million years. The exclusive resort offers 56 luxurious guest rooms, 12 of which are suites, featuring private balconies or patios, in-room fireplaces and large powder rooms and closets. Recently introduced cottages offer a new residential experience which can be enjoyed as one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury retreats. Each unique in size and amenities, the cottages feature in-suite and parlor fireplaces; lavish bathrooms and spacious outdoor patios.

Guests enjoy golfing at GOG’s 27-hole championship Kissing Camels course; tennis on two outdoor and four state-of-the-art indoor courts; an adults-only infinity pool ranked among the top five best hotel pools in the country by USA Today, and outdoor pools for families; acclaimed dining offerings; and a new model of holistic healthcare delivery at Strata Integrated Wellness Spa, celebrating its grand opening this Fall.

Boasting a legendary history, the resort has played host to some of America’s most beloved characters, such as Walt Disney, Gene Autry and John Wayne. Longtime Garden of the Gods Club members and esteemed community members, Judy Mackey and Brenda Smith, purchased the resort in October 2013 with the purpose of revitalizing the historic grandeur of the property and simultaneously creating a holistic wellness retreat for travelers worldwide.

AAA has been awarding Four-Diamond Awards to hotels and restaurants in the global travel industry for more than 80 years. AAA conducts professional, in-person property inspections and publishes the results for member travelers to use as a booking resource. The inspection is said to offer the only rating system using comprehensive, on-site evaluations guided by member priorities. The hotels, restaurants, and resorts unforgettable enough to receive this award will continue to deliver excellent experiences for many years to come. Just six percent of more than 27,000 properties inspected and approved by AAA achieve this prestigious distinction. Diamond ratings for hotels represent a combination of the overall quality, range of facilities, and level of services offered by the property. Four Diamond properties are defined as “refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.”
