Boston, MA; September 25, 2015 – The newly constructed Envoy Hotel opens today in Boston’s pioneering Innovation District, offering a new vantage point for visitors and locals alike. Guests are greeted with bronze lettering etched into the entrance’s sidewalk, urging them “This Way Forward;” and drawn in by stylish design, custom furnishings and some of the best views in the city. The Envoy Hotel fully embodies its role as a messenger, connecting and engaging with the innovative spirit of the neighborhood while keeping Boston proper within reach. As part of the Autograph Collection, The Envoy Hotel offers the rich experiences of an independent hotel stay that is Exactly Like Nothing Else with all the benefits of Marriott Rewards®.

“We’re delighted to be officially open and to welcome visitors and Bostonians to The Envoy Hotel. Our associates are also very excited to be a part of, and of service to, this vibrant community,” said Joe Mellia, General Manager. “The ownership has designed The Envoy Hotel with the neighborhood in mind—a creative, forward-thinking and vibrant destination that personifies the Innovation District.”

The hotel is carefully designed with handcrafted, artisan-style décor; reclaimed woods throughout; sleek, modern finishes and expansive windows framing unparalleled waterfront and city views. Tech-forward amenities include a classic billiards table reimagined into an interactive touch-screen workstation with six separate screens that can be used individually or together. These features are all perched in a bright, communal lobby lit by a dramatically oversized chandelier made from reclaimed materials including rope and vintage phone cords. Meanwhile, an interactive wall of heat-sensing bulbs that mirrors guests’ movements twinkles behind the check-in desk. Comfortable, communal seating areas are designed to encourage convergence, conversation and interaction.

The communal vibe extends to The Envoy’s 4,000 square-foot rooftop deck, Lookout Rooftop Bar, which offers guests and locals spectacular waterfront and city views alongside seasonal cocktails and local beers, including a house brew created especially for the property by Harpoon Brewery.

To complete the guest experience, a full-service restaurant, Outlook Kitchen and Bar, serves progressive, seasonally driven, regionally inspired cuisine under the leadership of Executive Chef David Verdo—a Boston native with prior experience including at the French brasserie Miel at the InterContinental Boston Hotel and Asana at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Outlook is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and features patio seating, a chef’s table and private or semi-private dining (available via reservation).

The Envoy Hotel’s 136 contemporary, comfortable accommodations include 115 king-bedded rooms, 19 double-bedded rooms and two luxury suites. These guest rooms are outfitted in soothing, textural neutrals with pops of The Envoy’s signature shade of yellow. Floor-to-ceiling, triple-paned windows provide unbeatable views of the city skyline or waterfront and cast natural light for a welcoming ambiance you can’t find anywhere else in Boston. All furniture has been created specifically for the hotel, including sleek white desks wrapped with a retro-inspired leather belt and wooden trunks with metal accents. A large-scale antique map of Boston, overlaid onto a glass panel, separates the bedroom from a spacious, open bathroom—which is complete with modern fixtures and Fresh bath products. Each guest room incorporates thoughtful touches for the modern traveler, including bedside charging stations and locally sourced amenities like snacks and beverages as well as tote bags and umbrellas. Every guest room also features a flat-screen TV mounted onto a customized bicycle frame; the TVs are enabled with high-tech Enseo systems.

“The ownership envisioned The Envoy Hotel as a hub for social and creative gathering, and as an integral part of the surrounding community,” said Mellia. “We’re thrilled to introduce this unique and special property to the Boston landscape.”

From the moment of arrival, guests can expect first-rate service delivered in a warm, approachable manner that’s fitting with the Innovation District’s youthful vibe.

The Envoy Hotel is located steps from Boston landmarks including the Institute of Contemporary Art, Moakley Courthouse and Fish Pier; among the many leading-edge businesses headquartered in the Innovation District; and just across the Evelyn Moakley Bridge into the heart of the city’s Financial District.
