Excelsior Springs, MO (September 28, 2022) – The Elms Hotel and Spa, a part of the Destination by Hyatt portfolio, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jessica Higginbotham as general manager. In her new role, Higginbotham now oversees all aspects of the newly renovated hotel and its daily operations, including 153 guest rooms and suites, the 28,000-square-foot Spa at The Elms, three dining outlets and 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space. She also works closely with the entire team at The Elms Hotel & Spa to ensure staff development and fulfillment.

Before joining The Elms Hotel and Spa team, Jessica acted as the director of operations at Hyatt Regency DFW International Airport, where was responsible for the operation of 811 guestrooms and 92,000 square feet of event space. A part of the Hyatt family for 27 years, Higginbotham first joined the brand as an assistant rooms manager at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Throughout her tenure with Hyatt, she has ascended various operations roles in the rooms and culinary departments, in markets across the country such as Tampa, St. Louis, Denver, Boston, Austin and Dallas. Jessica studied at Nicholls State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Marketing.

Higginbotham comes to Missouri with her husband, Shaun and their two beloved dogs.
