PHOENIX (April 30, 2018) – Best Western Hotels & Resorts celebrated the groundbreaking of the brand’s first new-build, dual-branded hotel in Arizona, the home of the company’s global headquarters. During a special morning event, members of the Best Western executive team and the hotel’s ownership group, Sam Trivedi of Shree Hospitality LLC, welcomed local media and dignitaries with celebratory speeches. The Best Western Plus Executive Residency Phoenix-Happy Valley will combine the best of both brands, offering guests accommodations suitable for leisure, business, extended-stay travel – and everything in between.

“Best Western has experienced a significant transformation in recent years, due in large part to the introduction of new hotel offerings such as our dual-branded concepts, which are designed to meet the needs of today’s travelers,” said David Kong, President and CEO of Best Western Hotels & Resorts. “As our first dual-branded hotel in Best Western’s home state of Arizona, the Best Western Plus Executive Residency Phoenix-Happy Valley breaking ground is representative of how far we’ve come and the exciting developments that await this iconic brand in the future.”

Best Western Hotels & Resorts’ extended-stay, dual-branded properties are quickly gaining popularity as it combines the very best of the Executive Residency by Best Western® brand with the best of the company’s upper-midscale Best Western Plus® brand, upscale Best Western Premier® brand, and boutique concept – Vīb®, providing two types of accommodations under one roof. With a rapidly expanding global pipeline, Best Western currently has 35 dual-branded properties in the works.

“We’re excited to celebrate the expansion of our dual-branded hotel portfolio with the groundbreaking of this new property right here, in Best Western’s backyard,” said Ron Pohl, Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Best Western Hotels & Resorts. “This hotel is the perfect example of how Best Western can successfully integrate two types of accommodations under one roof, offering today’s travelers, and developers, a unique, flexible property that fits within various different market segments.”

Ideally located in Phoenix, Best Western’s new-build, dual-branded property is minutes from Black Canyon Highway, as well as The Shops at Norterra and various entertainment centers. The beautiful Phoenix Sonoran Preserve is also nearby, offering 36 miles of trails to explore the city’s majestic desert landscape.

Upon opening, the Best Western Plus Executive Residency Phoenix-Happy Valley will feature 51 Best Western Plus guestrooms, complemented by 46 Executive Residency by Best Western guestrooms – each with an in-room kitchenette, stovetop, sink, microwave and refrigerator. Five of the Executive Residency by Best Western rooms will be two-bedroom suites with private patios. Guests will be able to enjoy the hotel’s vast array of amenities including a complimentary hot breakfast bar, daily happy hour, designated areas for grilling, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The hotel will also include an outdoor fireplace, a refreshing pool and inviting common areas designed to help guests relax and socialize.

“North Phoenix is in the midst of rapid growth, so there is no better time to introduce travelers to the diverse accommodations provided by the Best Western Plus Executive Residency Phoenix-Happy Valley,” said Sam Trivedi, partner and owner of Shree Hospitality LLC. “We greatly value our relationship with Best Western and are excited to bring their dual-branded concept to Phoenix.”
