Palma de Mallorca, October 9, 2015 – On October 10th RIU Hotels & Resorts will reopen the Riu Playacar Hotel after remodeling all of its facilities, transforming it into a completely new resort while remaining faithful to the personality which has characterized it since it opened in 2000. Thanks to the renovation work which entailed an investment of 32 million dollars, the new Riu Playacar offers new services and areas aimed at providing guests a place to relax so that they can enjoy an unforgettable vacation.

With its recently debuted style, which is more modern and in line with the interior decoration RIU is implementing in its hotels, the new design opens the hotel's facilities to the sea, providing spectacular views of the Caribbean, even from the Hotel's lobby.

The new Riu Playacar has 396 fully remodeled rooms with new furniture and decorations where shades of blue and simple lines predominate. The rooms also have a flat screen television, an electronic safe and fully renovated bathrooms. Also remodeled were the hotel's most important areas, including the lobby, the reception are, the resort's four bars and all of the restaurants, which will continue to offer their culinary selection lead by the hotel's main restaurant, equipped with a terrace, The Palms and three thematic areas: the Asian restaurant Jade, the Italian restaurant Traviata and the steakhouse Turquesa.

The complex and its gardens were totally redesigned, creating three pools, as well as a children's pool with fun slides. In addition, the pool bar, Las Olas, and the fabulous solarium-terrace were remodeled so that you can now enjoy an appetizer in the pool area. Sports and wellness lovers, on the other hand, can enjoy a renovated gym and the Renova Spa wellness center with jacuzzi.

With the All Inclusive 24 Hours service offered by Riu Playacar, guests can partake in numerous activities organized by the hotel's entertainment team, as well as water sports and games on the beach. At night the new theatre will offer shows and live music; while those who want to continue dancing can enjoy the La Piñata club, located at the neighboring Riu Tequila, which also holds the Riu Resort Playa del Carmen convention center which has five conference rooms and capacity for 785 people.
