Spokane, Wash., July 2, 2015 – RLHC (Red Lion Hotels Corporation, NYSE: RLH) today announced the company has signed franchise license agreements with two separate owners who intend to build Red Lion Inn & Suites properties in Bryan and Texas City.

“We saw an opportunity to be the first in this region to join a brand that is expanding nationally,” said Frank Rajan, an owner of the entity constructing the new property in Bryan, Texas, scheduled to open in first quarter of 2018.

The Red Lion Inn & Suites Bryan will be constructed just off of Texas 6 Frontage Road and North Earl Rudder Freeway with an outdoor pool, business center, fitness center and breakfast area, in addition to complimentary Wi-Fi for Hello Rewards members. Bryan, Texas, is about 100 miles northwest of Houston and 100 miles east of Austin. Texas A&M University is the largest employer in the area and nearby attractions include Wolf Pen Creek Park and Amphitheater, Northgate, Messina Hof Winery, George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, Texas World Speedway.

“In looking at potential brands for our desired location in Texas City, we determined RLHC offered the right mix of new technologies and fresh branding,” said Jayesh Patel, who represents the entity which intends to build Red Lion Inn & Suites in Texas City, scheduled to open in January 2017. “We look forward to working with the RLHC team as we identify our site for this new property.”

Texas City is located about 40 miles southeast of Houston on the coast of Texas in Galveston Bay. Among the top employers in the region are the Port of Texas City, several refineries, NASA Space Center, Texas Flight Museum, Galveston Bay, Kemah Boardwalk, Big League Dreams and UTMB Health Services.
