Hotel & Leisure Advisors is working on behalf of a client to solicit qualifications and proposals from experienced firms to develop a branded 100-room, upscale hotel in Fox Lake, Illinois. The hotel is projected to offer 6,000 square feet of meeting space; a restaurant lounge and rooftop bar; indoor pool with waterslide; whirlpool; fitness room; a 2,500 square foot spa; and business center. The site is located in northwest Lake County, Illinois (north of Chicago), which is home to the headquarters of several major corporations, including Abbott Laboratories, Walgreen Co., Baxter International Inc., and Discover Financial Services.
The subject site is along the banks of Lake Pistakee, part of the larger Chain O’Lakes region. Popular activities in the Chain O’Lakes area include boating, fishing, swimming, jet skiing, and wildlife watching. As such, the hotel will also offer 10-14 boat slips for restaurant customers and overnight guests as well as dinner/party cruises from a third-party vendor.
