February 16, 2018 1:46pm
LOS ANGELES (Feb. 13, 2018) – World-class luxury arrives in a bustling Los Angeles suburb as Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel debuts unrivaled accommodation, meeting space, catering, restaurants and bar.
The new Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel hotel is now open, featuring 288 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, EST. Prime Steakhouse, transcending the quintessential steakhouse with top-quality, imported steaks and fresh seafood, the highly anticipated Chinese import, Ba Shu Feng, opening in spring, 24-hour fitness center with yoga space and Sheraton Club Lounge for the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) frequent, loyal traveler. With unparalleled service, elegant dining, cutting-edge technology and resort-style amenities, the hotel provides a heightened level of luxury never before seen in the international business hub of San Gabriel Valley, located just east of downtown Los Angeles.
“Bringing this level of luxury accommodation and service was a huge area of opportunity for the San Gabriel Valley,” said Wanda Chan, general manager. “With its affluence, rapid economic growth and cosmopolitan international flavors, our associates are proud to be part of and to serve this community and will work hard to be the premier lodging, dining and meeting destination in the area.”
The hotel partnered with Cheng Chung Design, a leading hospitality design firm in Hong Kong, who drew inspiration from San Gabriel’s historic Spanish missions to blend earth tones, bronze metal accents, and sleek leather furniture with touches of modern elegance. All guest rooms are outfitted with marble bathrooms, coffee makers, tea kettles, refrigerator, and 49’’ televisions with international programming in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Exclusive accommodations are given to loyal SPG guests on the Club Level, including complimentary continental breakfast, hors d’oeuvres and evening beverage service in the Sheraton Club Lounge.
With the growing Chinese-speaking population of San Gabriel in mind, the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel has partnered with Chinese social media service, WeChat (ID: sheraton_san_gabriel), allowing staff to interact with customers in real time, and becoming the first Sheraton to offer WeChat pay and Alipay. English and Mandarin-speaking travel agents will also connect guests with top-class, customized local tours and luxury car services.
In conjunction with the highly service-oriented staff, the hotel will also be the first to debut service robots from autonomous mobile company Aethon, programmed to guide guests through the hotel with GPS capabilities and deliver room service. Visitors to the hotel will be greeted by one “wayfinding”, four-foot high, friendly-looking TUG robot, and a fleet of seven will use the service elevators to deliver items to guests such as luggage, meals, and linens, programmed to ring guestroom phones when they arrive at the door.
Meetings & Catering
The Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel is proud to debut 19,000 sq. ft. of versatile indoor and outdoor function space for corporate and social groups alike. The spectacular 11,341 sq. ft. Grand Imperial Ballroom with 27’ ceilings, Swarovski crystal chandeliers and two 33’ LED screens can accommodate up to 800 guests for banquets, including catering and social events.
At the Garden Terrace, guests may enjoy warm Los Angeles evenings in a picturesque setting, accommodating up to 100-person receptions and social events. Meeting rooms for 10 to 50 people are all equipped with 50’’ LED Screens, environmental lighting for customized meetings, and breakout space for mingling between sessions.
Event menus feature dishes made with local ingredients and customizable food and beverage options to ensure every event is truly memorable, planned with the help of onsite professional event planners who also speak Mandarin.
The Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel brings two new restaurants to the diverse San Gabriel culinary scene, including EST. Prime Steakhouse and Bar, led by award-winning Executive Chef Joseph Mills, serving only the finest prime steaks and award-winning wine for truly unforgettable fine dining experiences. Chef Mills will include herbs and fruits from his own on-premise garden and will feature dishes of opulent West coast seafood and Japanese-imported Kobe beef that even the most well-traveled diner will appreciate.
Following the steakhouse, locals and travelers alike will also enjoy modern Sichuan cuisine at the highly anticipated international favorite, Ba Shu Feng, a well-known Chinese restaurant making its US debut at the Sheraton Los Angeles San Gabriel this March. Ba Shu Feng is famous for its bold, spicy dishes which incorporate ample measures of garlic and chili pepper to reflect the cuisine of China’s western region – a memorable flavor that has created lines out the door among its international locations.
To start each day, guests will find fresh baked pastries and freshly brewed Starbucks® coffee in the hotel lobby, or will be able to stop by the on-premise Starbucks Cafe for a quick bite on-the-go, opening in May.
Afternoon High Tea
The hotel lobby also hosts Afternoon High Tea every Friday through Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The tea service menu celebrates traditional Chinese and English tea services, accompanied by an array of scrumptious tea sandwiches, scones with Devonshire cream and desserts such as Coconut Panna Cotta and Raspberry Rosemary Rugelach.
Guests are also invited to experience the hotel’s spa, Beverly Hills New Life Beauty & Wellness, provides four comfortable treatment rooms to enjoy treatments such as Deep Tissue Massages, Ultrasonic Facials and custom health and wellness plans to rejuvenate the senses. In addition, located on the second floor by the Atrium, is adjacent to the beautifully landscaped Garden Terrace, and features creative cocktails and light bites served poolside.
