Company to manage resort operations and enters into partnership with owner

DALLAS, January 26, 2015– Prism Hotels & Resorts announced today it has assumed management of the 428 room Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Resort in Tucson, Arizona. In addition to serving as the resort’s manager, the company has also entered into an ownership partnership-a strategic move that further solidifies the company’s confidence in the future of the resort and its ability to produce strong operating results. Steve Van, president and CEO of Prism Hotels & Resorts, made the announcement.

While Prism is widely recognized as the industry pioneer in working with distressed hotel assets-having revitalized hundreds of defaulted hotels during the last decade alone-the company continues to evolve as a national leader in successful traditional management, offering a full-range of services, including project management, advisory services and asset management. The Hilton Tucson El Conquistador is a prime example of the company’s expertise in working with both distressed assets and in traditional third-party management. This deal is an example of the valuable combination of both skillsets-the Prism team will leverage their proven value-centric approach by transitioning this formerly distressed asset into a profitable and desired hotel for both investors and guests alike. As evidenced by this management and ownership deal, the Prism team has a track record of creatively collaborating with ownership, leading to unique partnerships rooted in shared success.

“This hotel is one that has been watched by our industry for some time due to its outstanding offerings and great potential,” said Van. “Our partner in the hotel, Humberto Lopez is a visionary owner-he understands this industry, what makes properties successful and how to achieve a competitive advantage today. We knew this was a unique opportunity to deliver our results-based management capabilities and become true partners in success. We are extremely proud to partner with Humberto, who has an unmatched reputation in the greater Tucson community as both a businessman and philanthropist.”

With 428 spacious guest rooms and suite accommodations, the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Resort is located on more than 500 acres nestled at the base of the breathtaking Santa Catalina Mountains and surrounded by acres of high Sonoran Desert terrain. The resort combines beautiful natural landscapes, a myriad of local attractions, 45-holes of championship golf, 31 tennis courts, four onsite restaurants and bars, recreational facilities and more than 107,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space. The Prism team is currently working with Mr. Lopez to develop a themed repositioning for the resort’s future-capitalizing on its unique elements, all while differentiating it as a desired resort for meetings and family vacations alike.

“We have big plans for both operations, overall positioning, service delivery and guest experience,” said Van. “With our creativity, collaboration with Humberto and the strength of the Hilton brand, we are looking forward to making great things happen at this resort, as well as building on this momentum as a company with future announcements in 2015.”
