SARASOTA, FL – August 2017 – Art Ovation Hotel will be the newest addition to downtown Sarasota when it debuts this Winter. The 162-room boutique hotel will be an Autograph Collection Hotel, and plans to make its mark as Sarasota’s signature hotel of the arts – embracing and celebrating the city’s diverse range of visual and performing arts.

Prime Hospitality Group, a recognized developer in Florida, and Shaner Hotels, one of the foremost owner-operator companies in the hospitality industry, are collaborating to bring Art Ovation Hotel to life, with an unprecedented level of sophistication and creativity, reflective of Sarasota’s dynamic locale. Most recently, the two companies partnered in the construction and management of Playa Largo Resort & Spa in the Florida Keys.

Located in the heart of downtown, between the Sarasota Opera and the Florida Studio Theatre, Art Ovation Hotel is just steps away from Main Street, which is brimming with dozens of art galleries, restaurants, shops, and theatrical experiences, and also in close proximity to the Gulf Coast’s well-known beaches.

“Sarasota is a mecca for all things arts, and it was clear from the very beginning of the project that we wanted Art Ovation Hotel to reflect the true character of the city,” said Larry Abbo, CEO of Prime Hospitality Group. “We’re eager to capitalize on this unique opportunity to draw guests into the arts and cultural scene both on and off property.”

Every detail of Art Ovation Hotel, from its architecture and décor, to its personalized service and arts-focused programming, will be meticulously crafted to celebrate the artistic ambiance of Sarasota and deliver an exceptional guest experience. Guest amenities will include a robust Artist in Residence program, rotating art collections, art curators, VIP packages with exclusive access to area events and experiences, as well as the opportunity for guests to contribute their own artwork during their stay.

“With such a wide variety and refined collection of arts and cultural offerings, Art Ovation caters to everyone from art-novices to cultural enthusiasts,” said Brian Hockenbury, Senior Vice President of Operations at Shaner Hotels. “Guests can experience the arts full circle on property and within the surrounding area. We’re exploring a number of partnership possibilities, such as collaborating with students at the Ringling College of Art & Design, behind-the-scenes packages with Florida Studio Theatre, pop-up performances from Sarasota Opera, lunches with the director from Asolo Theatre, and more.”

Inspired by the city’s lively and cultural surroundings, the boutique hotel will feature approximately 10,000 square feet of event space with the ability to accommodate up to 450 people, a full-service restaurant, lobby bar, fitness center, and a bustling rooftop pool and bar, ideal for the after-theater crowd.
