CHEVY CHASE, Md., Dec. 7, 2018 -- The iconic HOTEL DU PONT which opened in 1913 and remains an internationally-renowned architectural jewel, has named industry veteran, Greg Kavanagh, as Managing Director. Earlier this year, the twelve-story, Italian-Renaissance style building completed major renovations to its lobby lounge and Green Room bar. In his new role, Kavanagh will help oversee the next phase of improvements at the legendary hotel that will honor the hotel's history while simultaneously introducing experiential programming and updates that today's luxury traveler expects.

Prior to his appointment, Kavanagh served as Vice President of Sales and Operations with BridgeStreet Global Hospitality, overseeing the launch of the MODE Aparthotel brand, both here in the U.S. and Europe. A seasoned hotelier with over 25 years of experience, Kavanagh was Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing and held senior management positions overseeing a portfolio of luxury and premium properties for Interstate Hotels and Resorts across the Mid-Atlantic region. Starting out as an Executive Meeting Planner and working his way up through on-site sales positions before being promoted to the role of General Manager, he learned every facet of the hotel business. Over his career he has developed a deep understanding of the unique opportunities at both branded and independent hotels, as well as expertise leading complex renovations and conversion projects.

"An experienced sales and marketing executive with a proven track record of developing creative strategies that deliver memorable guest experience while also optimizing revenue and advancing channel expansion and market share, Greg intuitively understands the Managing Director's impact on the value of a hotel," says Joseph Bojanowski, President of PM Hotel Group. "Greg's ability to build winning teams of creative thinkers will allow us to re-imagine the experience that the HOTEL DU PONT delivers at a time when the hospitality industry is redefining modern luxury, while still honoring the hotel's legacy."

PM Hotel Group operates a diverse and growing portfolio of luxury, lifestyle, full and select-service hotels across 15 states from New York to California.
