CARMEL BY-THE-SEA, CALIF., — June 20, 2016 – Carmel Boutique Inns announced the appointment of Peter Radler as General Manager of the Cypress Inn, an iconic 1929 historic landmark located in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Effective May, 2016, Radler will be responsible for all aspects of daily operations and leadership management of the 44-guestroom property co-owned by legendary Hollywood actor and animal rights enthusiast Doris Day. A 30 year veteran in the hospitality industry, Radler joins Cypress Inn from Monterey's Portola Hotel & Spa where he served as Restaurant General Manager overseeing all aspects of the AAA Four Diamond property's food & beverage operations, banquet and wine program. A long-time resident of Pacific Grove, California, Radler has a rich resume in Carmel hospitality, holding management positions at L'Escargot, Fresh Cream, Stokes Restaurant and Bar and Pèppoli Restaurant at Pebble Beach's Inn at Spanish Bay. Farther south, Radler was opening Food & Beverage Director at Oceana Hotel in Santa Monica, Calif., and Food & Beverage Manager at Avalon Hotel located in Beverly Hills, Calif. Internationally, Radler was General Manager at esteemed Hotel Schloessli in Biel, Switzerland and owned Opus One Restaurant in Munich, Germany.

Radler received his Associate's Degree from the Hotel Management School Garmisch Partenkirchen in Germany. He enjoys swimming, walking his Tibetan Terrier Bobby and enjoying fine wine in his spare time.

Ahead of the curve, Cypress Inn was one of California's first hotel properties to welcome pets in the mid-1980s and has since seen everything from parrots to potbellied pigs check in for an adventure by the sea. Standard operating procedure includes concierges carrying grain-free all-natural dog treats and guestrooms appointed with dog bowls, plush dog blankets and in-room fireplaces. Terry's Lounge rolls out a daily Yappy Hour including a culinary canine menu and Muttinis for four-legged companions.
