(LOS ANGELES; November 2018)—The forthcoming Godfrey Hotel Hollywood—set to open spring 2019—announces the appointment of General Manager Clay Andrews and Hotel Manager Konstantine Kabilafkas; Andrews also serves a dual role as Director of Operations for the West coast region of Oxford Hotels & Resorts. Bringing nearly two decades of experience each, directing food and beverage teams, as well as managing hotels both boutique and corporate, the leaders have a clear vision for the operation of The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood including staffing logistics, on-site amenities, creating an atmosphere to differentiate it in the marketplace, while capturing the distinct Hollywood personality.

“Not only are we making it a casual, positive, and welcoming hotel for guests, but also for the employees who are the foundation of this hotel and all Oxford properties,” Andrews states. “We want them to feel comfortable and showcase who they are, while promoting staff-guest interaction so there’s a sense of personal touch, communication, and understanding.”

Andrews’s passion for excellent service drives an elevated, yet affordable experience for guests while maintaining an intimate feel for the 220-guestroom property.  He leads the latest Godfrey opening by helping to further refine the hotel’s positioning and branding with a distinctive, contemporary presence on Cahuenga Boulevard.

“Each of the Godfrey Hotels has a unique and exclusive look, and the personality of each hotel’s region translates through its design and features,” says Kabilafkas. “We hope to bring the classic Hollywood flair into this hotel and make it a trendy, yet approachable place for guests to get a glimpse of what the area offers.”

Kabilafkas’s current scope at The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood includes sourcing vendors and creating a basis for the hotel’s operations, including minute details such as linens and toiletries, to employee uniforms and the general hotel atmosphere. The blank slate of the initial hotel phase has lent Kabilafkas the flexibility to pursue creative endeavors such as bringing on vibrant projection mapping, tech-focused amenities inside guestrooms, one-of-a-kind courtyard and rooftop experiences, and more.
