OKLAHOMA CITY (January 9, 2019) – Omni Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Dan Boyer as director of sales and marketing for Omni Oklahoma City Hotel. Boyer will oversee all sales and marketing efforts including managing, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies that drive group, catering, business and leisure travel revenue for the convention center property set to open in 2021.

Executives from Omni broke ground on the highly anticipated Omni Oklahoma City Hotel in October of 2018 alongside Mayor David Holt, Cathy O’Connor, president and CEO of The Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City and Mike Carrier, president of the Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“Dan is a seasoned hospitality professional with decades of experience in sales and marketing across the country,” said Dan Surette, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Omni Hotels & Resorts. “Oklahoma City is a new and unique market for Omni, so Dan’s passion, expertise in opening new hotels and creative and strategic thinking will be vital to our success as we open this hotel. We’re excited to welcome him to the Omni family.”

Most recently, Boyer was director of sales and marketing at Sheraton Grand Phoenix Hotel. Among many things, he was responsible for leading the overall group and leisure room strategy and overseeing the catering sales and convention services departments. Prior to that, Boyer was the director of sales and marketing at Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel (2007-2014), Renaissance Scottsdale Resort (1999-2001) and Marriott Salt Lake City Hotel (1997-1999). At each hotel, Boyer gained experience leading sales strategy and driving guest room and food & beverage revenues. He also developed long-term, value-based customer relationships, targeted and evaluated sales channel opportunities and hotel-specific campaigns to proactively position and market each property he represented.

The 17-story, 605-guestroom hotel is set to open in early 2021 and is located at 100 West Oklahoma City Boulevard. The property will serve the city’s revitalized downtown area including the future convention center, Scissortail Park and Chesapeake Energy Arena, home of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. The hotel will feature 29 suites and will be a true outdoor recreation, entertainment and culinary destination, offering seven dining outlets, an expansive pool deck with event space, retail, 78,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space and a Mokara Spa. Omni Oklahoma City Hotel will become a part of Omni's booming Convention Center Collection including signature properties in Atlanta, Louisville, Dallas, Fort Worth, Nashville and, also opening in early 2021, Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport.

Boyer holds a bachelor of science from University of Missouri. He and his wife are looking forward to relocating to Oklahoma City.
