Mr. Alfonso Martínez is excited to embark on a new journey with NIZUC Resort & Spa, continuing his notable career working worldwide with leading hospitality brands.

With an impressive vision in place for the future, Mr. Martínez is thrilled to spearhead leadership of NIZUC Resort & Spa with a focus on the attention to detail and flexibility that today’s luxury travelers’ desire. He believes that NIZUC’s team is the hotel’s most vital asset. He will continue encouraging collaboration to ensure strong training, motivation for success, and dedication to providing the best experience for our guests.

Born and raised in Mexico, between Acapulco, Mexico City, and Estado de México, Mr. Martínez is the son of a prominent hotelier, from whom he inherited the passion for hospitality. In his early years, Mr. Alfonso Martínez and his family lived in the hotels where his father was a manager. This upbringing sparked his curiosity about hotel operations and led him on a hospitality path in the future.

After completing a degree with honors in Hotel Management from the Universidad Anahuac, one of the best universities in the country, Mr. Alfonso Martínez transitioned from roles in hotel security, front desk management, reservations, and then room’s division management at Camino Real Polanco. In 2005, he was promoted to his first general manager position at Camino Real Perinorte and was shortly promoted to managing director the following year. In 2013, he moved to work with Intercontinental Hotels in Central America as managing director for Intercontinental Tegucigalpa, San Salvador, and Guatemala. Starting in 2019, he was the director for Live Aqua San Miguel de Allende, one of the most luxurious and exclusive hotels in the Grupo Posadas portfolio. These past experiences gave Mr. Martínez a strong foundation and understanding for delivering the experiences to clients, guests, and collaborators.

I have deep gratitude to those who believed in me and the love of my family and colleagues who always supported me throughout my professional and personal career,” states Alfonso Martínez.
