NewcrestImage has opened an AC Hotel in the historic Bricktown neighborhood of Oklahoma City that becomes the company’s first property using modular construction and the city’s first hotel with this building technique.

The five-floor, 142-room hotel features traditional construction for the ground floor, then has 81 modules that form the remaining four floors.

In addition to its special form of construction, the AC Hotel is distinctive in its blend of the latest technology conveniences with clean, contemporary European design.  Examples of the vibrant design include “floating” furniture in guest rooms and specially-commissioned local artwork in public space.

“Modular construction enabled us to deliver an upscale property at dramatically lower construction time and costs, while the AC brand allows us to immerse guests in an atmosphere that is simultaneously high tech and high comfort,” explains Mehul Patel, Chairman and CEO of NewcrestImage.

“The hotel’s design is energized modern, while also paying honor to the rich heritage of the surrounding warehouse district.”

This new property continues NewcrestImage’s history of “first’s” with the AC Hotel brand, notably opening the first AC Hotel in the United States, which occurred in the French Quarter of New Orleans in November of 2014, and opening the first AC Hotel in Texas, which happened earlier this month in downtown Dallas.

Other amenities at the AC Hotel in Bricktown include 800 square feet of meeting space, a fitness center, a business center, a fine dining restaurant, and a European-style lounge featuring specialty cocktails and intimate nook seating.

The property is strategically located adjacent to the 13,000-seat Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark and within a few blocks of the Cox Convention Center, which attracts thousands of visitors every month to events at its one million square feet of multi-purpose space.

Bricktown is a 50-square block area in downtown Oklahoma City that has been transformed from an abandoned warehouse district into a thriving urban destination for dining, shopping, and entertainment.  Since 2015, NewcrestImage has operated a 124-room Holiday Inn Express in Bricktown that has been recognized for its exceptional architectural features.

Dallas-based NewcrestImage now owns and operates a portfolio of 25 hotels, with another 10 properties under construction or in development, including historic sites in Cincinnati, New Orleans, and Houston.  The company has three divisions: real estate; construction; and hotel management.
