Kimpton Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City, a downtown property that sits at the base of the white-capped Wasatch Mountains, announces the hire of Nathan Sporbert as its new general manager. Sporbert brings eight years of diverse industry experience with him, with his most recent role serving as the Hotel Manager for the Kimpton Hotel Palomar Phoenix.

While he is a familiar face to the Kimpton brand – having worked for several other properties, including opening the Kimpton St. George in Toronto, Kimpton La Peer in West Hollywood, and the Kimpton Aertson in Nashville – he also brings a wealth of knowledge of the hospitality industry. Sporbert graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Management, and immediately began a career with Starwood, where he worked his way up to Guest Services Manager in 2015, earning several accolades along the way, including Manager of the Year, Best in Class: Leadership, and maintained some of the highest guest satisfaction scores for several years running.

An advocate and example of growth and development, his rich industry experience extends well across leadership, into operations, finance, housekeeping and guest services.  In each of these positions, Sporbert has maintained high levels of service and fully encompasses Kimpton’s founding principles rooted in human connection.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of this amazing team,” said Sporbert. “The Hotel Monaco is such a beloved hotel in Salt Lake City, and I’m looking forward to building our strong connection to our community, delivering heartfelt connections, and continue to create programming that captures the essence of our guest.”

An avid golfer and sports fan, when not at work, Sporbert can be found rooting on the Grizzlies, Bees, Real Salt Lake, and Jazz, or spending time with family and friends.
