MIAMI, FL (March 2016) – Meliá Hotels International is pleased to announce the appointment of Olivier Servat as General Manager of the forthcoming ME Miami. With the property slated to open in April 2016, Servat will ensure that this newest addition to the ME brand’s portfolio – the first ME by Meliá property in the U.S. – will offer the same unparalleled service that guests experience at all properties across the globe.

A veteran of the hospitality industry, Servat has assumed roles throughout the United States, France and Morocco, and will bring not only 20 years of experience, but also a fresh perspective to the ME by Meliá team. With vast knowledge of both the U.S. and international markets, he most recently served as the Senior Consultant for Steigenberger Hotels AG. Previous positions include a range of leadership roles including the General Manager of W Washington DC; the General Manager of W Paris Opéra, which he opened; the Hotel Manager of Le Méridien Etoile in Paris; and the Deputy General Manager of Le Méridien Montparnasse in Paris. Servat’s analytical and innovative leadership has resulted in global recognition and positive, organization-wide changes in each hotel. An MBA graduate of the University of London, Servat is also multilingual and able to speak English, French and German.
Joining Servat is the appointment of Sylvia Martinez as the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing. Martinez brings over 16 years of sales, revenue management and marketing experience at hotels worldwide and the Miami market. Martinez developed her career through a series of appointments with luxury and lifestyle hotels including W South Beach, Biltmore Hotel, and most recently, DOSM for Hersha Hospitality. In her new role at ME Miami, Martinez will oversee sales and revenue management initiatives, using her extensive experience and strong skills and also providing leadership on the day-to-day operations of the Sales and Marketing team while maintaining focus on the hotel’s strategic plans to meet the brand’s revenue goals.
ME Miami will boast 129 rooms, two outdoor pools with a poolside bar and lounge on the 14th floor, and more than 5,000 square feet of renovated space that will be converted into new dynamic food and beverage facilities with dining and event spaces. All public and private spaces, including a Spa Suite with dedicated massage cabins, will be completely remodeled to reflect the eccentric, yet luxurious amenities that ME by Meliá prides itself on. Furthermore, ME’s signature Aura Managers will be onsite to set the mood and provide expertise about downtown Miami and its cultural offerings.
The ME by Meliá brand is the most innovative luxury brand operated by Melia Hotels International and currently includes seven locations – ME London, ME Madrid, ME Milan Il Duca, ME Cabo, ME Cancun, ME Ibiza, and ME Mallorca.
