Tampa, F.L. (February 7, 2017) – McKibbon Hospitality, an award—–winning leader in the hotel development and management industry, announced today that it has added the Aloft Orlando Downtown hotel to its management portfolio. Located in Orlando’s central business district adjacent to City Hall and near the Phillips Performing Arts Center and Amway Center, Aloft Orlando Downtown opened in 2013 and is owned by GDC Properties. The new management contract expands McKibbon’s presence in Orlando, where the company currently manages three hotels, and adds a new Aloft Hotel to McKibbon’s portfolio, in addition to the Aloft Greenville Downtown, Aloft Asheville Downtown, and Aloft Tallahassee Downtown.

“McKibbon Hospitality has experienced great success with Aloft Hotels in other key markets, and we are thrilled to expand our Aloft portfolio through the management of Aloft Orlando Downtown,” said Randy Hassen, president of McKibbon Hospitality’s hotel management division. “We look forward to building a relationship with GDC Properties to continue to elevate this property within the Orlando market while ensuring it remains a truly special place for visitors and locals to enjoy.”

The first Aloft Hotel to enter the Orlando market, Aloft Orlando Downtown is a revitalization of the former Orlando Utilities Commission building and boasts many of the building’s original features including its terrazzo flooring, marble walls and teak wood paneling. The modern, select-service hotel includes 118 rooms, an impressive 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the Aloft brand’s signature W XYZ® bar with weekly performances by local emerging musicians, a Splash outdoor pool and Re:charge gym.

Aloft Orlando Downtown achieved LEED Gold Status from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2015 in recognition for a design that includes the use of sustainable, environmentally-friendly materials.

“We are pleased to welcome McKibbon Hospitality as the new management group for our Aloft Orlando Downtown hotel,” said William Ingraham, president of GDC Properties. “McKibbon has a proven-track record in managing properties within the Aloft Hotel brand and continues to implement very unique programs for hotel guests and locals that set their Aloft Hotels apart. We are confident that their team will help take the Aloft Orlando Downtown hotel to even greater heights.”

With the addition of Aloft Orlando Downtown, McKibbon Hospitality’s management portfolio consists of 87 hotels and a total of nearly 10,000 rooms. In Orlando, McKibbon currently manages the Courtyard Orlando Altamonte Springs/Maitland. McKibbon also developed and now manages and owns the Hampton Inn & Suites Orlando Airport at Gateway Village and Homewood Suites Orlando Airport.
