MIAMI, FL. (November 30, 2017) Meliá Hotels International (MHI), one of the world’s largest hotel and resort chains, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mathew Pargament as General Manager of ME Miami, the brand’s newest hotel property and first in the United States. Pargament joins the team with nearly two decades of hospitality and leading industry experience in some of the country’s most notable hotels.

With extensive knowledge in the South Florida market, where he has been working for nearly a decade, Pargament joins ME Miami after assuming the same role at The EDITION Hotel, Miami Beach, property he opened in November 2014. Prior to this new role with MHI, Pargament held executive management positions across several prominent regional hotels, including The Standard Spa, Miami Beach and the King & Grove Tides South Beach. His hotel management portfolio also includes properties such as the Mondrian Hotel in West Hollywood, The Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and Hudson Hotel in New York City.

Receiving a degree in Hotel Management from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Pargament will oversee day-to-day operations of the 129-room luxury lifestyle hotel and ensure ongoing initiatives and activations are aligned with the ME brand standard, bringing fresh new ideas to the property and creating exciting new opportunities at the hotel.
