Los Angeles, Ca – October 12, 2021 – ​Malibu Beach Inn, a five-star boutique hotel where the Pacific Ocean meets California’s seaside haven, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Fricaud as executive chef of Carbon Beach Club (CBC), the hotel’s signature all-day dining concept overlooking the ocean waves and wildlife. Fricaud will drive the hotel’s culinary operations for CBC, in-room dining, banquet operations, as well as CBC’s curbside offerings.

Fricaud joins the CBC team from his most recent role as executive chef for the French general consulate in Beverly Hills, Calif. David has a global and sophisticated palette having held chef titles across the world in England, Canada, Abu Dhabi, France, Egypt, and beyond. Notable posts held throughout his career include chef de cuisine of the French restaurant Méridien in Abu Dhabi; sous chef at the Concorde-Lafayette Hotel in Paris; executive chef at Le Relais de la Malmaison; executive chef at Publicis Drugstore, where he led a team of more than thirty chefs; and executive chef of LAFARQUES in Belgium. David also held various culinary positions in Southern California including executive chef of Lavender Bistro and chef de cuisine at Pitchoun Bakery.​ Chef David was a semifinalist on ‘Top Chef’ further cementing his place in the culinary world.
