IRVING – Dallas-based architectural firm, Mayse & Associates, Inc, is pleased to announce that construction is about to commence on a 157-room, high-rise Element Hotel, part of the Marriott family of hotels. It is to be located at Hwy 114 and Meadowbrook Drive within the Irving, Texas suburb of Las Colinas.

The 105,565 gsf. lifestyle hotel was designed as a 12-story high-rise building on the site of the former Sfuzzi Restaurant. The hotel lobby will have a bar and dining area, along with the back-of-house support spaces. Hotel guestrooms are located on levels 2-11, with an enlarged fitness area located on the 2nd level.

The Element hotel is an extended-stay hotel with larger than typical guestrooms that contain kitchenettes. There is a communal suite on the 10th and 11th floors that allows group guests to have up to four King Rooms via a unique layout connecting them to an oversize communal gathering area with large TV and a dining table. Also featured is a 12th floor, 2,300+ sf. Grand Ballroom attached to a large pre-function space with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the north Las Colinas skyline.

The hotel features a Diversakore framing system using concrete plank flooring on a three-beam system attached to a deep concrete pier foundation. The Diversakore framing system will allow the quick erection of the project once the piers and 1st-floor foundation is in place. The project is expected to take just 100 days to erect the upper 12 floors of the hotel’s primary structure and flooring system.

“The entire project team worked well together to deliver a high-quality set of construction documents for the Owner and Contractor,” commented architect and project team leader, Ron Smith a born and raised Irving native.

Construction will be performed by Irving-based DDG Construction. The hotel will be owned and operated by Lodgic Hospitality, based in Houston.
