THERE’S A NEW KID IN TOWN
With the opening of the Kimpton Pittman Hotel on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 comes the rebirth of one of Dallas’ most historic buildings in the storied Deep Ellum neighborhood. The property serves as the first hotel in the neighborhood and provides doorstep access to some of the city’s most popular shops, craft breweries, dining destinations and over 30 live music venues.

The Kimpton Pittman Hotel makes its home in the historic Knights of Pythias Temple. Designed in 1916 by prominent African American architect and son-in-law of Booker T. Washington, William S. Pittman, for whom the hotel is named, the property has undergone a delicate restoration to once again serve as a place for community, collaboration and celebration of the arts. A nostalgic blend of old and new, the Kimpton Pittman Hotel is Dallas’ premiere leisure destination, complemented by a chef-driven restaurant, spacious meetings and event space and forthcoming outdoor bar and pool deck.

STAY WITH US
The Kimpton Pittman Hotel offers 165 contemporary, residential-style guest rooms ranging from a Deluxe King to a spacious, Presidential Parlor. Each room is comprised of soft, modern white walls adorned with artwork from Dallas artists and unexpected pops of dark green, orange and gray. Beds are outfitted with leather stitched headboards, custom mattresses, and signature Frette linens. Bathrooms range from soaking tubs to stand-up showers, accompanied by Kimpton’s exclusive line of Atelier Bloem bath amenities and soft, micro-fiber bath robes. Guests can also enjoy a 24-hour fitness center, equipped with free weights, a Peloton and TRX training machines, or take their workout outdoors with complimentary PUBLIC bicycle rentals and a ground-level outdoor pool.

HISTORY RUNS DEEP
After having sat vacant for decades, Kimpton recruited architects, Perkins+Will, to work in tandem with designers at Busta Studio and the Dallas Historical Society to restore and preserve the 1916 landmark to its original essence, while coupling it with a new build, contemporary tower. The renovated structure is a romantic juxtaposition of new and old, featuring meticulously restored elements married with authentic, contemporary design elements. The lobby and common spaces resemble an industrial style loft with strong materials including exposed steel, raw concrete and natural leather against simple white walls. Each space is fitted with custom furnishings and fixtures such as vintage-jar inspired lighting, curated pieces from local artists including Toni Martin, Michael LeDoux and Robin Walker, and a collection of original photos showcasing the hotel’s 1916 roots sourced from the Dallas Public Library.

IN GOOD TASTE
Located alongside the main lobby, Elm & Good is a modern American tavern inspired by no-fuss farmhouse fare. The menu, ideated by executive chef and local favorite Graham Dodds, takes its cues from nearby farms, fields and waters to emphasize clean and bright flavors. Each dish is expertly paired with a selection of local beers, curated wines and craft cocktails from lead mixologist, Gregory Huston.

GATHER AT THE PITTMAN
With over 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, the Kimpton Pittman Hotel opens up an entirely new area for hosting collaborative meetings and unforgettable celebrations. For smaller gatherings, the property offers a 475 square foot conference room equipped with comprehensive multimedia and audio-visual support, complimentary wireless internet, on-site planning services and catering through Elm & Good. A true standout in Dallas, the restored Grand Ballroom offers 4,200 square feet of vintage, restored space featuring 28-foot ceilings and three full walls of soaring, 20-foot, palladium windows, which provide ample natural light and romantic skyline views.
