BOSTON, MA (JULY 2022) – Kimpton Nine Zero is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Smith as the hotel’s new General Manager. While Smith is new to the Kimpton brand, he is no stranger to the hospitality industry, bringing more than 25 years of experience to the role.
After receiving his BS in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Smith began his hospitality career in San Francisco at the Grand Hyatt. Throughout his career, Smith has succeeded in numerous managerial roles for more than 16 hotels in 9 states.
In 2008, he was named the Director of Rooms for the Grand Hyatt DFW where he maintained guest service scores for the #1 ranking Hyatt in the US. In 2010, he became the Director of Food & Beverage at the Grand Hyatt Denver, before heading to Seattle in 2018 to open the city’s largest hotel, the Hyatt Regency. In 2020 he was named General Manager of the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Junction, where he led the hotel back to pre-pandemic business levels.
A dedicated and dynamic leader who firmly believes in Kimpton’s core values of providing personalized guest experiences, Smith looks forward to taking on a leadership role at Nine Zero.

In his free time, Smith enjoys spending time with his wife, Stephanie, and their son Decklan. When not at work, he can be found exploring the outdoors, hiking, biking and camping.
