(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) August 7, 2015 – Kana Hotel Group, in partnership with Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development, celebrated the groundbreaking of Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Gwinnett-Sugarloaf in Gwinnett County, metro Atlanta. The full service, all-suite hotel near the Gwinnett Center represents an investment of $30 million to the community.

Located at 2029 Satellite Blvd, in the Sugarloaf corridor, Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta Gwinnett-Sugarloaf will be constructed and designed in the brand’s Design Option III style. The design features a variety of side-by-side suites, and one room suites in addition to a contemporary atrium area, decreasing the amount of land needed and creating efficiencies for both construction and operational costs.

“This is going to be an incredible development for the Gwinnett-Sugarloaf area and we are pleased to partner once again with Hilton on such a great brand” said Alpesh Patel, CEO, Kana Hotel Group. “The Design Option III prototype has been great for us in other locations, and we’re confident that it will be a tremendous success here as well.”

“We are so pleased that Kana Hotel Group has chosen Gwinnett as an ideal location to build one of its full-service Embassy Suites brand hotels,” said Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash. “With the strength of the Gwinnett Center, attracting visitors from all over, Embassy Suites will be a welcomed addition to the Sugarloaf corridor and to our business community at large.”

The Embassy Suites Atlanta Gwinnett-Sugarloaf will feature signature amenities, including 166 suites, over 7,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, free cooked-to-order breakfast each morning, a nightly complimentary evening reception and two-room suites with a separate living area, private bedroom, two flat-screen high-definition televisions and wet bar fitted with a microwave, mini-fridge and a selection of gourmet coffee and teas from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The property will offer complimentary, 24-hour fitness and business centers, along with an indoor pool.

“The goal of our plan is to deliberately provide a sense of destination to the Gwinnett Center area and provides ample opportunity for visitors to linger and for residents to use the space for year-round entertainment,” said Preston Williams, CEO and Managing Director of the Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau and Gwinnett Center. “We want to create an environment that utilizes existing amenities, places to work, and places to play, all within walking distance of each other.”

The groundbreaking followed an event hosted in Partnership Gwinnett’s Economic Development Breakfast series on the future of the Sugarloaf corridor. More than 150 business leader from across the Metro Atlanta attended to hear panelists discuss plans for a $100 million investment in full service hotel developments, the creation of the Sugarloaf Community Improvement District and the future phasing of the Gwinnett Center Master Plan, including an entertainment district.

“We are excited to take this important step in realizing Gwinnett’s long-term strategy to bring more convention business to the community,” said Nick Masino, Senior Vice President of Economic Development for Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett. “Embassy Suites Atlanta Gwinnett-Sugarloaf’s expansion is an example of the improvements that will set the Sugarloaf corridor apart as an activity center with wide-ranging, long-lasting economic benefits to Gwinnett County.”
