With the exception of the Audience Favorite award, the editorial team sent categories to more than 200 travel correspondents globally, then compiled their suggestions along with the Jetsetter team's.  A final committee of senior-level editors sat to debate and narrow the list down based on each category's criteria, then compiled a final selection of a winner and two runner-ups in each category.
