With 22 years of industry experience, Waldo will captain the award-winning, 110-room resort with strategic direction and island hospitality.

An effective communicator, Waldo is trilingual in English, Italian and Spanish. Waldo earned a master’s degree in Hotel Administration and Management from Florida International University (FIU) and holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Ohio State University (OSU). Prior to joining Amara Cay Resort, Waldo led the Courtyard by Marriott Key Largo as general manager, where he was instrumental in overall operations, guest satisfaction and staff development. Previous to this position, he held an eight-year tenure with Ramada Worldwide, beginning as assistant general manager of Ramada Key Largo, and then general manager of Ramada Florida City.
