MIAMI, Nov. 7, 2014 -- Miami based Trust Hospitality, announced today that the former Islamorada Resort will complete its top-to-bottom transformation in December and will change its name to Amara Cay Resort. The name Amara Cay evokes the subtropical essence of the Florida Keys, where the sun meets the shore, and beckons travelers to visit from all over the world. Included in the resort's rebranding is a dynamic new website that is now accepting reservations for travel beginning on January 1, 2015.

"We are thrilled to introduce the vibrant new Amara Cay Resort to the Islamorada community and to travelers from around the world," said Kara Lundgren, general manager of the Amara Cay Resort. "This property has been a Florida Keys staple since the 1970s and we are eager to preserve those memories while also elevating our guest experience to the highest levels. The new look and feel of the resort will echo the authentic feel of the island lifestyle our guests treasure."

From the lobby to the guestrooms, Amara Cay Resort's soothing new color palette and design-driven spaces deliver understated elegance. Conceived as a contemporary re-imagination of the classic seaside cottage, Amara Cay Resort's 110 guestrooms and suites feature simple, clean designs and appointments incorporating natural elements such as wood, rattan and dark tile. The layout and decor establish a guest's sense of ownership and personal space. Each guestroom has a newly extended balcony affording sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding Florida Keys. In keeping with Amara Cay Resort's commitment to sustainability, the new guestrooms incorporate environmentally responsible elements including LED lighting, improved thermostats, upgraded sinks and showers, and impact resistant glass.

The completely remodeled lobby echoes the historical beauty and charm of Islamorada by combining rustic textures, reclaimed wood and playful papasan chairs into a sense of unhurried comfort and social intimacy. Amara Cay Resort will also open Oltremare Ristorante, a Mediterranean-inspired Italian restaurant, which will feature fresh, locally caught seafood and regional ingredients. The 60-seat open restaurant will flow into the lobby.

"The future is bright for the Islamorada Resort Company," said Patrick Goddard, president & COO of Trust Hospitality. "The re-brand and multimillion dollar renovation of Amara Cay Resort is just the beginning. It's a new and exciting era for Islamorada, and we are thrilled to be a part of changing the landscape for locals and travelers alike."

To complement the fresh look of the property, Amara Cay Resort's new website provides guests with an engaging online experience featuring beautiful still images and video plus an overview of accommodations, amenities, property highlights, monthly activity calendar, Florida Keys attractions, rates and availability, and more.

Located on the oceanfront in picturesque Islamorada, Amara Cay Resort is the perfect setting for guests to unwind, connect with the sea, and make lasting memories. The resort's mission is to craft a unique and authentic experience for guests that will remain with them forever.
