Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M. (June 19, 2019) – Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, a luxury resort located on the Santa Ana Pueblo, announces the appointment of Patrick Mohn as Executive Chef.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chef Mohn back to Hyatt Regency Tamaya,” said General Manager Claudia Wattenberg. “Chef has many years of experience in the culinary industry including working previously at our resort. He is very passionate about delivering an incredible guest experience and creating exceptional and flavorful recipes that are unique to the culture here at Tamaya.”

Mohn previously worked with Hyatt Regency Tamaya when he joined the team as a culinary intern shortly after his graduation from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute in 2005.

Mohn is originally from Waldo Gulch, N.M., a ranch built on an abandoned mining settlement between Madrid and Cerrillos in New Mexico. He first became interested in the culinary field as a young boy watching a local television show that featured a variety of different ways to prepare Cajun food. When Mohn was 14 years old, he started his first job at San Marcos Café in Cerrillos, N.M., where he washed dishes, peeled potatoes, and made lemonade for guests.

“I really want to redefine and elevate the culinary culture at the property,” said Mohn. “My goal is to modernize the indigenous flavors and techniques and incorporate a holistic approach to food as nourishment as well as enjoyment. I also want to ensure that the people who work in my kitchen learn, grow, and maintain an efficient, clean, and smooth-running environment as well as provide our guests with a phenomenal experience.”

As Executive Chef, Mohn is responsible for the conceptual direction of the kitchen, the overall guest experience, ensuring the restaurants are hitting the financial goals of ownership, and mentoring of the next generation of culinarians.

During his previous tenure at Hyatt Regency Tamaya, Mohn received the Hyatt Good Taste Series Silver Medal in 2014, and was awarded Hyatt Regency Tamaya Manager of the Year in 2015.
