SAN FRANCISCO (Feb. 4, 2016) – Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport is pleased to announce the appointment of Irby Morvant Jr. as General Manager of the Burlingame hotel, located just minutes from San Francisco International Airport. Drawing on nearly 30 years of experience within Hyatt Hotels Corporation, including his most recent role as General Manager of Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, Morvant is responsible for all operations at the 789-room property and oversees its various departments, programs and team. He will also lead the hotel through a full renovation planned for completion in summer 2016.

“I look forward to working with the talented group of associates at Hyatt Regency SFO that have contributed to the success of this remarkable hotel and am honored to be part of the larger Burlingame community,” said Morvant. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Hyatt for many years, and I most admire our company for the authentic connections created between associates and guests through genuine care and kindness shown each day.”

Morvant boasts an impressive, 27-year tenure with Hyatt, serving in various sales and leadership roles at properties from coast-to-coast, including multiple Hyatts in Chicago, historic Hyatt Regency Cleveland, Hyatt Regency Boston and Hyatt Regency New Orleans. In 2007, he was appointed Regional Vice President of Sales based in Chicago, then moved into the role of General Manager at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina prior to this appointment.

A community man at heart, Morvant serves on the boards of the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce and the San Mateo/Silicon Valley County Convention and Visitors Bureau. In his spare time, he enjoys adventurous food, outdoor activities and exploring the peninsula with his wife, Allyson, and their three children, Amelia, Thomas and Natalie. Morvant graduated from University of New Orleans before being accepted into Hyatt’s Corporate Management Training program.
