LAHAINA, Hawaii – March 23, 2021 – Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, the first destination resort in the world, is excited to announce the resort has just finished a multimillion-dollar renovation to its 810 guestrooms including 31 suites and its lobby.

Guests will enjoy an entirely new guestroom experience inspired by the rich heritage and authentic spirit of the famed Ka’anapali Beach. The renovation, led by Wimberly Interiors, embraces natural surroundings with new and modern design. The rooms feature private lanais with glass balconies beautifully showcasing views of the Pacific Ocean, the West Maui Mountains, scenic golf courses and lush gardens, and open closets to make the accommodations feel more spacious. The new expansive and open lobby features new light stone flooring and an atrium design that ties Maui’s natural beauty into the existing iconic building. The open-air architecture frames the resort’s majestic ocean views and allows natural light to filter into the space, welcoming guests into a vibrant yet relaxing atmosphere. The new organically shaped planter beds display a selection of native Hawaiian plants, such as dryland kalo (taro) and kupu kupu ferns, with nooks carved out for the resident parrots and cockatoos to greet children and adults alike.

Hyatt Regency Maui guests can embrace the stunning location and enjoy six free-form pool areas with waterfalls. There are 10 distinct dining concepts including Son’z Steakhouse, which features the “Best Steak” as voted by the Maui ‘Aipono Restaurant Awards, and award-winning Japengo, which offers Asian cuisine infused with island flavors.

“We are so thrilled to have completed our multi-year multimillion-dollar renovation and cannot wait for our guests who are comfortable traveling to start experiencing the new rooms,” said Fred Findlen, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa. “At Hyatt Regency Maui we are constantly revamping our offerings and experiences to ensure our visitors can create unforgettable memories and enjoy unique Hawaiian hospitality.”

Guided by its purpose of care, Hyatt’s multi-layered Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment further enhances its operational guidance and resources around colleague and guest safety and peace of mind. The resort has appointed a Hygiene & Wellbeing Leader to oversee all new protocols and operational guidelines. Hyatt Regency Maui conducts frequent sanitization with hospital-grade disinfectants, hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the resort, social distancing signage is incorporated into all the common spaces, and mobile check-in and check-out are offered. Guestrooms also feature a digital room, floor and resort orientation on the televisions. There are only four people allowed per elevator, limited seating at restaurants, pool chairs and cabanas are appropriately distanced, and masks are required for guests and resort employees upon entry.
