Cedar Creek, TX (May 25, 2023) – Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, a Texas destination resort near Austin’s Hill Country tucked away on 405 lush acres along the banks of the Lower Colorado River, is pleased to announce the appointment of Irby Morvant Jr. as general manager. In his new role, Morvant will lead the hotel team and oversee all operations of the AAA Four Diamond resort.

Morvant is a seasoned hotelier with over 30 years of experience in the hospitality management industry. Most recently, Morvant served as a general manager of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa, and prior to that served as general manager of the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport. Before that he held the position of general manager at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina in San Diego, and prior to that was regional vice president of sales and revenue for Hyatt Hotels Corporation overseeing multiple Hyatt resort properties. He also previously held numerous hospitality roles at Hyatt Regency hotels in Chicago, Boston, Cleveland, and New Orleans after graduating from University of New Orleans.

Among the resort updates that Morvant will oversee is the resort’s newest restaurant, Maude’s Bar and Terrace, debuting this summer, the reimagined Maverick’s Roadhouse and Heartwood House restaurants, and the redesigned Lost Pines Golf Course. Morvant will also be responsible for directing future resort developments including upcoming enhancements that will transform Lost Pines’ indoor and outdoor spaces, further elevating the resort’s exceptional guest experience.

Morvant enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, enjoying the great outdoors with activities including fishing, hiking, surfing and trail running. He also loves cooking and listening to live music in his free time.
