Austin, Texas (June 4, 2019) – Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, one of Texas’ leading resorts located right outside of Austin, announces Frank Majowicz as Executive Chef. Majowicz joins the property from Hyatt Regency Houston.

“We are very excited to welcome Chef Majowicz to the Lost Pines team,” said Dave Jacobs, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa. “Not only does Chef have unmatched experience in the culinary industry, he is very passionate about food and bringing the best dining experience possible to our guests. We look forward to seeing Chef’s passion and inspiration come to life at our resort.”

Majowicz has served as an Executive Chef with Hyatt Corporation for nearly 40 years. He’s overseen culinary operations at properties throughout the country including Hyatt Long Beach, Hyatt Lincolnwood in Chicago, Hyatt Regency Greenville, Hyatt Regency Fort Worth, Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, Hyatt Regency Kansas City, and several others.

“I am really excited to join the team at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa. Having worked primarily in business hotels throughout my career, I’m looking forward to the new challenge of overseeing a resort, and to learning and infusing the culture of this beautiful property into our food and beverage experience,” said Frank Majowicz, Executive Chef with Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa. “With my new role, I have the opportunity to redesign and launch new restaurants at the resort including a new burger bar, a hot dog stand, and a new food truck. Getting the opportunity to start with a blank slate is very fun because it gives me the opportunity to bring new life and excitement to the dining options available to our guests.”

Majowicz first became interested in the culinary field when he was a child and joined his mother on catering jobs in Hartford, Connecticut. As a young adult, Majowicz joined the Navy where he attended the Navy Cooking School and served as a cook on an aircraft carrier. Following his time in the military, Majowicz followed his passion of food by traveling throughout Southern Europe and working at small restaurants along the way, from Barcelona to Athens. “During my time cooking in the Navy I met several restauranteurs from all over the world and became interested in traveling and exploring the world through food. While in Europe, I worked with some amazing chefs who taught me the art of staying humble and working hard in what can be a very tough industry,” said Majowicz.

Once he returned to America, Majowicz attended The Culinary Institute in New York City and graduated with honors in 1976. Immediately following school, Majowicz began working with Hyatt Corporate as a Sous Chef at Hyatt Regency Knoxville in Tennessee.

“Working with Hyatt for nearly 45 years, it has been my greatest honor to see people that I have hired and trained be successful in their lives and careers. I look forward to continuing to provide mentorship and direction to my team here at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines to help them be their best both personally and professionally, all while making this property one of the greatest food and beverage resorts there is.”

As Executive Chef, Majowicz will oversee the entire culinary team at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa. In addition to his management and oversight, Majowicz will be responsible for menu planning, and ensuring the premier quality of the food and dining experience at all of the resort’s outlets on a daily basis.

In his free time, Chef Majowicz and his wife Renee own and operate the Dell’s Favorite Texas Olive Ranch where they produce high-quality, small batch olive oil products.
