Austin, Texas (January 23, 2020) – Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa, one of Texas’ leading resorts located right outside Austin, announces Cory Baum as Director of Sales and Marketing. Baum joins the property from Hyatt Regency Jacksonville in Florida.
“We are very excited to announce Cory Baum as Director of Sales and Marketing at Hyatt Regency Lost Pines,” said Keith Spinden, General Manager of Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa. “Cory is the ideal professional for this position because he has a vast amount of experience paired with an unmatched passion for creativity and innovation to find new and exciting ways to bring attention to our property. On behalf of the entire Lost Pines team, we look forward to working with Cory as an integral part of the resort’s leadership committee.”
Baum began working in the hotel industry as a front desk agent while attending college, an experience that further drove his interest in working in the hospitality field.
In 2005, Baum graduated from Arizona State University (ASU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Business, Tourism, and Communications, which allowed him to gain a more focused approach to working with hotels. Immediately following graduation, Baum was accepted into Hyatt Corporation’s Corporate Management Trainee (CMT) program at Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago where he had a chance to experience each department.
After his time in the CMT program, Baum was quickly promoted as a planning manager in the events department, then promoted to the sales department where he held various positions and managed several markets. He has worked Hyatt properties throughout the country including Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino in Nevada, Hyatt Regency Morristown in New Jersey, Hyatt Regency Columbus in Ohio, and others.
In his role as Director of Sales and Marketing, Baum has received numerous awards and recognitions including Hyatt’s “Sales Team of the Year” award, he led his team to achieve Hyatt’s “Marketing Award,” and the company’s “Excellence in Leadership Award.”
“I am thrilled to move to Austin, where the atmosphere is vibrant and full of life. The resort is ideally positioned just outside of the city, and the three-mile Texas wilderness style entrance to the resort reminds me what a beautiful place this is,” said Baum. “Before coming to Austin, people who have been here rave about their experience. Whether it is the incredible barbecue or the unmatched music scene, and I’m excited to find out what exactly that means for my family in our new community and share my experiences with friends, family and colleagues.”
Baum moves to Austin with his wife Catherine and Daughter Charlotte.
