KEY WEST, Fla. (November 4, 2016)Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa today becomes the latest property to join Hyatt’s new Hyatt Centric portfolio of lifestyle hotels. Following a multi-million dollar refresh, the former Hyatt Key West Resort & Spa now incorporates the Hyatt Centric brand philosophy of providing intuitive travel experiences that draw upon local offerings and experiences like nearby Duval Street, Ernest Hemingway’s Home and Museum, and Mallory Square.

Located in Key West’s historic Old Town, the waterfront resort is comprised of 120 contemporary guestrooms with private balconies that offer cinematic-like sunset views over the Gulf of Mexico. After receiving an extensive overhaul, the rooms now feature colorful furnishings and artwork inspired by the vibrancy of the island. Amenities like Moleskin journals, Drybar Buttercup blow dryers, and eco-friendly Bee Kind bath products are now offered in-room, in addition to hotel-wide additions like authentic Cuban coffee and novels by Ernest Hemmingway and Tennessee Williams that accentuate Key West’s special history.

Among the many property upgrades, Blue Mojito Pool Bar and Grill received a significant refresh. Redesigned in cool blue hues, accents of sea and lime greens, and beach-chic neutrals, the new pool bar now offers enhanced ocean views, accommodations for larger parties, and additions including:

  • New booths and tables with custom woodwork
  • Blue and green translucent art murals that embody the destination’s tropical landscape
  • New dining chairs, side chairs, and barstools
  • An indoor chandelier, outdoor ceiling fan; backlit glass signage, and new televisions at the bar
  • Additional wind protection on the waterfront

The resort’s Jala Spa also underwent significant updates, notably its change of location to the ground floor and the addition of a third treatment room and manicure and pedicure station. The modified look also comprises new, elegant furniture, updated shower fixtures, paint and tiles, finishes in the bathrooms and treatment rooms, and sleek wood floors – all of which retain the same blue and neutral color tones found throughout the property and Key West’s natural landscape.

“We are incredibly proud to transition into a Hyatt Centric property and strengthen our offerings for the experiential traveler seeking localized experiences,” says Carlos M. Morales, general manager, Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa. “Our resort’s prime location combined with the Hyatt Centric brand philosophy allows us to deliver the best lifestyle hotel experience on the island, and we’re excited to show our guests the best of Key West both on-property and off.”

The hotel is owned by Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc. For more information on Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa, please visit keywest.centric.hyatt.com.
