NEW ORLEANS, LA. – April 6, 2021 – HRI Lodging announces the appointment of Andrew Dryden as General Manager and Christopher Toy as Director of Sales for the Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capital District, opening early summer 2021. With over two decades of combined hospitality leadership experience, Dryden and Toy will oversee a total of 214 guest rooms, three food and beverage outlets, and close to 3,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. The property is a joint venture between Rockbridge and HRI Properties, LLC, and HRI Lodging, LLC will oversee management of the property.
Andrew Dryden, General Manager, most recently served at the HRI Lodging-managed Aloft Philadelphia Downtown where he supported the hotel opening as Assistant General Manager before being promoted to the hotel manager position. Prior to, he was the Director of Guest Services at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue following his role as Front Office Manager at The Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia. His extensive background in hospitality and food and beverage includes experience as Banquet Manager with Columbia Sussex Hotels and various management positions with White Lodging Services. Dryden is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University.
Christopher Toy, Director of Sales, joins HRI Lodging after spending the last 6 years in the Austin market. Most recently, Christopher was the Director of Sales and Marketing overseeing The Ruby Hotel in Round Rock, TX and 7A Ranch in Wimberly, TX. Prior, Mr. Toy was in the downtown Austin market with the Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown Convention Center and the Embassy Suites Austin Arboretum where he served as the Director of Sales and Marketing. Prior to coming to Austin, Christopher worked in San Antonio, TX and oversaw the DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown San Antonio as Director of Sales and Marketing in addition to helping open the Hilton Garden Inn Live-Oak. Mr. Toy’s hospitality management experience spans cities across the country from New York City NY, Providence RI, Ft. Lauderdale FL, and Atlanta GA. Mr. Toy earned a bachelor’s in science in Hotel/Hospitality Management with a concentration in Resort/Casino Management from Johnson and Wales University.
