May 25, 2021 – Hotel Esencia is delighted to announce the appointment of Sean Murphy as General Manager. Sean brings eight years of experience in the hospitality industry to Hotel Esencia, having previously served as the Front Office Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel.
As General Manager, Sean will apply his extensive knowledge of the travel industry to oversee all day-to-day operations, while continuing to drive owner Kevin Wendle’s vision of creating unparalleled guest experiences for new and returning patrons alike. His desire to inspire is exemplified through his leadership and management skillset, empowering the team to execute the celebrated brand standard of Hotel Esencia. In his new role, Sean aspires to sustain an environment where his team feels valued and hotel guests can create unique memories they are unable to discover anywhere else in the world.
Born and raised in Laguna Beach, California with a love for the ocean and connecting with people, Sean started his hospitality career with The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel. During his time there, he spent eight years working through different roles where his responsibilities entailed overseeing all operational aspects of the hotel as well as driving revenue across all channels. This allowed Sean to develop an international understanding of the discerning affluent traveler, as well as the curation of high touchpoint luxury.
