Stockyards Heritage Development Co. and Hotel Drover are excited to announce Kristin Assad as the VP/General Manager of their new 4-Star property. Set to open in Fall 2020, Hotel Drover will serve as the anchor and crown jewel for the Fort Worth Stockyards and soon-to-open Mule Alley mixed use development. Part of the Marriott Autograph Collection of hotels, this stunning 6 story hotel will feature 200 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, as well as 15,000 square feet of meeting space, an elegant barn for weddings, meetings, and social events and a chef-curated restaurant, 97 West Kitchen & Bar.

“We interviewed a number of candidates for the vp/general manager leadership role at Hotel Drover. Each were impressive, but after spending time with Kristin, her passion and enthusiasm coupled with her extensive skill set in the hospitality space made her the ideal candidate to lead the charge at Hotel Drover,” said Craig Cavileer, managing partner for Stockyards Heritage Development Co. and EVP of Majestic Realty Co.

In her role as vp/general manager, Assad will orchestrate day-to-day operations for Hotel Drover with an immediate focus on building the team for the resort. With over 23 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Assad brings a unique knowledge, passion and vision to this iconic project. Throughout her career she has held a variety of instrumental roles in hotel operations for leading brands such as Omni Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, and most recently The Joule in Downtown Dallas. With her passion for creating one-of-a-kind guest experiences, Assad leads her teams with integrity and drives towards operational excellence. She is dedicated to the betterment of the hospitality industry in Texas and serves on the advisory boards for the Hotel Association of North Texas, University of North Texas Hospitality and Women’s Hospitality Network.

“It’s an exciting time for hospitality and entertainment in Fort Worth with boutique hotel properties and curated restaurants popping up across the city and in the Stockyards. When I learned of the legacy project happening in the Stockyards, I was drawn to its rich history and vibrant future,” said Assad. “I’m thrilled to be leading the team at Hotel Drover and look forward to building our brand as the leader in hospitality for Fort Worth and the region.”
