SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – April  18, 2022 – Hotel Cerro is pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Olson to the role of general manager of the boutique property, located in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo. A seasoned professional with more than 27 years of industry roles and valuable destination experience, Olson brings her extensive leadership, knowledge and expertise in all areas of luxury hospitality to Hotel Cerro.

Hotel Cerro features 65 spacious guest rooms, 8 residences, the full-service Spa Cerro, rooftop pool with 360-degree views, and signature restaurant Brasserie SLO with dishes from the property’s Edible Garden. As general manager of Hotel Cerro, Olson will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations, guest relations, manager development and creating a goal driven environment for the team, serving as an ambassador for both the hotel and destination.

Prior to joining the Hotel Cerro team, Olson was the CEO and director of business development at the nearby Central Coast Distillery, leading the conceptualization and launch of the boutique craft distillery that has garnered international recognition. Olson has held impressive general manager roles at Allegretto Vineyard Resort, opening the luxury property in Paso Robles, California, as well as at Inn at Morro Bay in Morro Bay, California and Carmel Valley Ranch in Carmel, California. With a 16 year tenure at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in Ojai, California, Olson served there as director of human resources cultural development, assistant general manager and general manager, launching their 10,000 sq. ft luxury spa village and overseeing a $90M property-wide renovation.

In addition to being an expert in strategic planning and positioning for independently owned and operated hotels, Olson is also a lecturer at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo, teaching an Extended Education course on the importance of guest service for sustaining and growing a committed customer base. Furthermore, in partnership with Central Coast Distillery, Olson has launched the University’s first certified educational courses in distillation.
