AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA (April 2, 2018)Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is pleased to announce the joint development of a new program with the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS ) Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism, which provides the students with the opportunity to prepare for their HFTP Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP ®) designation.

The program, which is expected to launch in the 2018-2019 academic year, will include HFTP-approved CHTP information in the School's 14-week class syllabus. A faculty advisor, who has attained and maintains the CHTP certification, will be appointed by NYUSPS to teach the class and oversee the program offerings. Upon completion of the class, the first step in attaining the designation is to submit a Student CHTP Certification Application to HFTP and take the certification exam.

“Receiving a hospitality designation from HFTP is a good way for students to jump-start their professional careers in hospitality,” said HFTP CEO Frank Wolfe. “HFTP’s certification programs are globally recognized for setting industry standards for hospitality finance and technology.”

Nicolas Graf, associate dean of the NYUSPS Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism, who was instrumental in moving this initiative forward, commented “We are delighted that through our agreement with HFTP, we will be able to offer our students additional educational and credentialing opportunities in areas that are driving forces in the hospitality industry.”

HFTP offers the only designations for finance and technology professionals who are working in the hospitality industry. Both the CHAE and CHTP designations require professionals to sit for an initial competency exam, and complete continuing education credits for each renewal cycle. Qualification for the exams is based on level of education and experience in the industry; student programs are also available.
