SAN FRANCISCO – April 19, 2017– Hilton San Francisco Union Square, the largest hotel on the West Coast, announces the completion of its $26 million room renovation project with upgraded accommodations in Tower Two. The new features include: comfortable but sleek colors and designs, noise cancelling windows and doors and electric plugs that are easily accessible throughout the room. Bathrooms and guestrooms have been completely redone, including ample bathroom lighting and in-room tablets for greater guest convenience, which will be available in all the hotel’s 1,919 guestrooms.

Other new enhancements include Cityscape viewing lounge and Urban Tavern.

Cityscape is the hotel’s crown jewel. This quintessential San Francisco lounge offers the best, unobstructed 360-degree views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge from atop the hotel’s 46th floor. In addition to spectacular views, the lounge’s menu highlights hand-crafted cocktails, California wines and a menu of small bites for sharing.

The newly reimagined Urban Tavern is a casual but contemporary neighborhood tavern that makes visitors feel like locals. Recently redesigned to present the best of the Bay Area food scene, the restaurant now boasts an urban buzz that is partnered with the chef’s menu, featuring seasonal dishes, complimented by the region's celebrated wines, craft beers and cocktails.

Additionally, the hotel recently completed refurbishment of its meeting spaces and common areas as well as a $6 million transformation of its 30,000-squarefoot lobby. The latest enhancements include a bright overhaul of the hotel’s Lobby Bar and culinary marketplace, Herb N’ Kitchen, boasting design inspired by San Francisco’s eclectic characteristics. The completion of this renovation amounts to $130 million capital spend in the last eight years.

“In line with the expectations of our guests and local visitors alike, the Hilton San Francisco Union Square has engineered a campus wide renovation that accommodates the needs of the most discerning customers,” comments Steve Cowan, General Manager of Hilton San Francisco Union Square. “The new design elements create dynamic energy and functionality that serve as a welcoming meeting hub by day and lounge area by evening.” Cowan adds, “With sophisticated décor catering to the millennial traveler, the Lobby Bar is a buzzing gathering place with an unmistakable energy. Reflecting the city’s unique characteristics by way of signature cocktails, casual seating and an engaging atmosphere, the bar is the town square of the hotel and central meeting place for business and leisure travelers as well as locals.”

While the renovations amount to great enhancements for the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, the hotel has also partnered with “sister” property Parc 55 San Francisco – A Hilton Hotel in which the two properties feature a “campus” approach to sharing resources of a combined 2,943 guest rooms, 164,500 square feet of meeting space, reciprocal charging/billing entitlements, conference services, audio visual assets, high speed Internet, meeting and event facilities and shared amenities, which include two fitness centers, access to private swimming pool, business services, Hilton Honors benefits, food + beverage options and in-room tablets.

A world class destination, Hilton San Francisco Union Square is steps from shopping, dining and entertainment in the heart of Union Square and is home to Cityscape viewing lounge at the hotel’s 46th floor, the new Urban Tavern restaurant, a fully equipped, modern fitness center, an outdoor heated swimming pool and whirlpool. The property also features 134,000 square feet of meetings and special events space, including 73 meeting rooms and an opulent 30,000 square foot Grand Ballroom.
