SAO PAULO, Brazil and MCLEAN, Va. – May 3, 2018 – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and Hotelaria Brasil today announced the signing of a strategic development agreement for Hotelaria Brasil to initially develop five franchised Hampton by Hilton hotels in Brazil – marking the brand’s debut in the country. The announcement underscores Hilton’s commitment to expand throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, and reinforces the upper-midscale brand’s momentum with 139 openings worldwide in 2017, including Hampton hotels in the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico and Uruguay. As part of the agreement, the companies have confirmed the first hotel is scheduled to open in 2019 at Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

"While we continue to pursue growth opportunities in the Caribbean and Latin America, Brazil has remained a focus market as it boasts the largest economy in South America,” Shruti Gandhi Buckley, global head, Hampton by Hilton. “We look forward to partnering with Hotelaria Brasil in launching Hampton by Hilton in Brazil and adding Guarulhos Airport to our more than 45 Hampton hotels currently open and welcoming guests throughout the region.”

Expected to open in early 2019, the 160-room Hampton by Hilton Guarulhos Airport is located less than two miles from the airport. In addition to Hampton’s global commitment to delivering unprecedented guest service in its category, the hotel will feature a three-meal-a-day restaurant with local and international menu; bar/lounge; fitness center; event space for up to 300 guests; and complimentary airport shuttle. Locally inspired contemporary design and functional guest rooms combined with activated public areas will uniquely differentiate Hampton from other hotel brands.

“We recognize the value in working with such a well-respected hospitality company in Hilton, particularly as our vision to offer intuitive service and quality accommodations to travelers aligns with their standards,” said Marcio Lacerda, general director of Hotelaria Brasil. “With plans of introducing five Hampton by Hilton properties in Brazil, we are honored to grow our portfolio alongside Hilton and we look forward to building upon this relationship.”

“With Hampton by Hilton, our hotel in Guarulhos will provide business and leisure travelers alike with the quality accommodations and exceptional experience they have come to expect. We look forward to offering thoughtful and efficient service to those visiting Sao Paulo,” said Sami Moussalli, president of Board of Directors of Hotelaria Brasil.

As part of Hilton, Hampton by Hilton Gaurulhos Airport will participate in Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest loyalty program for Hilton’s 14 distinct hotel brands. Members who book directly have access to instant benefits, including a flexible payment slider that allows members to choose nearly any combination of Points and money to book a stay at an exclusive member discount.
