NEW YORK (November 15, 2022) – NoMo SoHo, owned by real estate and investment firm Sapir Corp Ltd. (“Sapir”) and operated by Highgate, is proud to announce an expansion to their culinary team with the appointments of Iwona Luksza as Director of Food and Beverage and Evan Bergman as Executive Chef. Both will collaborate to elevate the property’s culinary offerings including the famed NoMo Kitchen, the new Rose Garden, the Library Café and will oversee the catering and events department.

Iwona Luksza touts over 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry with particular emphasis in the Manhattan market. Prior to joining NoMo SoHo, she was the Director of Bars and Restaurants at the Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, where she oversaw the property’s bars and restaurants after a historic transformation. Luksza’s breadth and depth of work also extends itself to leadership roles at a range of luxury properties including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company; Mandarin Oriental, New York; The Knickerbocker Hotel and Crosby Street Hotel. In her new role, Luksza will leverage her substantial background to seamlessly oversee NoMo SoHo’s in-house restaurant and bar services as well as banquet and catering operations.

With a notable background spanning over a decade, Chef Evan Bergman offers diverse aptitude in both classic and modern techniques to create a luxury dining experience. Previously, he served as the Executive Sous Chef at the opulent Pine Hollow Club where his efforts amounted to over $3 million in event revenue within one year. Other senior leadership roles where he honed his distinct vision and improved restaurant performance include the Charlie Palmer Collective, The Knickerbocker Hotel and LouLou Petit Bistro. At NoMo SoHo, Bergman will carry that artistry by creating seasonal menus and fostering relationships with local purveyors for an unforgettable dining experience. Bergman plans to expand on the culinary experiences NoMo Kitchen is best known for, adding progressive and innovative new menu items featuring seasonal ingredients.

“We are thrilled to have Iwona and Chef Evan as a part of our growing Food and Beverage team,” says Patrick Lacassagne, General Manager of NoMo SoHo. “Between Iwona’s commitment to intuitive hospitality and Chef Bergman’s innovative direction with our menus, their collective experience on front- and back-of-house operations will further elevate the property’s already sterling offerings.”

NoMo SoHo’s latest dining concept, the Rose Garden is a serene, romantic terrace set on the ground floor of NoMo Kitchen. Open on weekday afternoons as well as Friday brunch service, the restaurant accommodates up to 40 people throughout fall and will reopen in early spring with heat lamps and overhead awnings to accommodate for colder weather. The space is decorated with evergreen pink roses, creating a city garden dining experience that lasts throughout the seasons. Guests can enjoy a menu reflecting the mosaic of cultures found in the surrounding SoHo neighborhood with standout dishes including Lamb Kofte with Harissa Labneh, Eggplant Nigiri with Miso, Duck Wings with Gochujang Glaze and more.

NoMo Kitchen has recently added new menu items to celebrate fall and showcase seasonal American cuisine. Guests at the iconic restaurant can take a bite of farm-to-fork dishes such as Golden Tilefish with Lobster Bouillabaisse, Long Island Duck Breast with Thumbelina Carrots and Tiger Figs or a Seared Salmon with Romanesco Cauliflower.

“NoMo SoHo is always working to elevate the dining experience for our guests as well as the SoHo neighborhood,” says Sharon Raz, CEO of Sapir Corp Ltd. “We are hopeful that with the addition of the Rose Garden and enhancements to NoMo Kitchen under Chef Evan and with Iwona’s guidance, we will continue to welcome the local community and travelers alike into our culinary outlets.”
