HEI Hotels & Resorts, one of the nation’s leading operators of institutionally owned full-service hotels with a portfolio of more than 100 properties across the United States, recently announced that it has assumed management of the 354-room Marriott Jacksonville Downtown Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. Owned by L+R Hotels, the Marriott is situated in the heart of downtown along the St. John’s River and is convenient to all city attractions, cultural arts and sports venues, the convention center and corporate headquarters offices.

“We are excited to continue the expansion of our relationship with HEI through their management of this Marriott hotel, one that has been very important to downtown Jacksonville’s business, convention and tourist communities for many years,” said Neil Kirk, COO of L+R Hotels, which owns the hotel.

“HEI’s growing relationship with L+R Hotels is highly rewarding as we continue to align our mutual objectives and maximize operating performance and the value of high-quality assets, such as the Marriott Jacksonville Downtown Hotel,” said HEI Hotels & Resorts CEO and Managing Partner, Anthony Rutledge. “HEI’s management platform and repositioning skills will help to further establish the hotel as one of Jacksonville’s premier lodging experiences and the hotel of choice for many visitors.”

The Marriott Jacksonville Downtown Hotel provides a rooftop swimming pool with dramatic views of the St. John’s River and city skyline, and nine meeting rooms that comprise nearly 13,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 7,000-square foot ballroom. The hotel’s food and beverage facilities include a three-meal restaurant, a coffee shop and a lobby lounge.  A comprehensive renovation of the hotel is in the planning stages with completion anticipated in the first quarter of 2024.
