Islamorada, Fla. (July 16, 2018) – Anchored in the laid-back and lighthearted lifestyle of Islamorada, the oceanfront Amara Cay Resort proudly announces Ryan Wisely as executive chef. Wisely brings expertise gained over a 20-year career to Amara Cay Resort, where he will oversee the property’s special event catering and Reelburger, the resort’s signature restaurant presenting epicurean burger creations with infusions of island flavor, as well as Reelburger’s Tiki Bar.

“We are excited to have Chef Wisely as part of the Amara Cay Resort team,” said Eddie Sipple, regional general manager of Islamorada Resort Company. “His dedication to the profession and creativity will lend itself nicely to enriching Reelburger and our guests’ culinary experiences.”

Wisely joins Amara Cay Resort following his tenure as executive chef at the iconic Green Turtle Inn in Islamorada, Fla. He previously held leadership positions at several Florida Keys restaurants such as Cheeca Lodge & Spa, Kaiyo Grill and The Islamorada Fish Company.

“It is an honor to join the Amara Cay Resort team. I love the Reelburger concept and am eager to continue the momentum and creativity,” said Ryan Wisely. “I’m also looking forward to new culinary initiatives related to wedding and banquet functions.”

Inspired by Islamorada’s claim to fame as the “Sport Fishing Capital of the World,” Reelburger’s all-day dining menu presents gourmet burgers, hearty “burger bowl” salads and social starters. Reelburger’s specially developed blend of brisket and prime beef produce a juicy and supremely flavorful burger. The craftsmanship focused on the food continues behind the bar with a well-rounded list of tiki and craft cocktails, specialty shakes, beer and premium wine. Set against a backdrop of vibrant blue skies and swaying palms, Reelburger’s Tiki Bar is a breezy poolside spot where fresh fish tacos, tropical cocktails and key lime pie are among menu highlights.

Blurring the line between recreation and relaxation, Amara Cay Resort extends numerous resort offerings including a beautiful lagoon-style pool, kitschy lawn games, bikes for strolling The Overseas Highway and non-motorized watersports such as paddle boarding and kayaking. To soak up the Islamorada sun, guests enjoy a private white-sand beach complete with thatched huts and hammocks and a pier overlooking the marina.
