Fitness-focused chain, Even Hotels, to come to metro Atlanta

It can be hard to maintain your usual routine when you’re on the road, which is what inspired one hotel chain to bring wellness one step closer than a communal workout space.

At Even Hotels — launched by InterContinental Hotels Group in 2012 — guests can workout without even leaving the room.

There are currently about a dozen locations of the niche hotel nationwide, and plans to expand include a new location in metro Atlanta.

The development firm behind the Even Hotels Alpharetta-Avalon Area, located at 2715 Old Milton Parkway, released renderings for the hotel this week and said the location will be open early next year.

It’s part of Alpharetta’s mixed-use development known as Avalon, which has been expanding over the last several years.

The Alaphretta location will be the chain’s first hotel in Georgia — with other locations operating in places like New York, Seattle and Miami.

“This trend of maintaining a healthy lifestyle is becoming a life choice for many, many customers, and this trend is growing,” IHG’s Christian Hempell said when the chain first launched in 2012.

So, no need to pack your yoga mat or weights when traveling — they’ll be in the room waiting. Along with a standing desk, reusable water bottle, workout channels on the TV and “mood lighting within headboards to deliver a holistic wellness experience,” according to a release from the company.

The hotel, which developers broke ground on last year, is slated for a Jan. 1 opening. Perhaps guests here will be able to stick to those New Year’s resolutions.
