NEW ORLEANS – July 18, 2017 – The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel is excited to announce the appointment of Edward Dennis Pearse to general manager. In his new role, Pearse will oversee the operations of one of New Orleans’ most beloved hotels, focusing his endeavors on the property’s rich history, modern luxury and extraordinary tradition of hospitality.

Pearse developed a love of luxury hotels in his previous position, leading the team at the Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans. His commitment to hospitality and Hilton was fostered through various management positions in housekeeping, front office, food and beverage and room operations at many classic upscale New Orleans hotels.

“I love New Orleans and its culture,” said Pearse. “The Roosevelt New Orleans has been a significant landmark for people to come enjoy everything the Crescent City has to offer. This new position is a great honor and I’m excited to be a part of such an outstanding team.”

As a native New Orleanian, Pearse began his career as a training manager at the Royal Sonesta New Orleans in 1994 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Tulane University and a Master of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University.

Pearse’s passion for the New Orleans community does not stop with his career. He serves as Treasurer and is an executive board member of the Greater New Orleans Hotel and Lodging Association, serves on the board of the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, and French Quarter Festivals Inc., and is a commissioner on the French Quarter Management District.

His commitment to hard work and dedication to his family and career has won him several accolades and awards, including the American Diabetes Association’s 2014 Father of the Year Award, 2010 Homewood Suites General Manager of the Year, 2007 Homewood Suites General Manager of the Year Merit, 2007 Dimension Development Company General Manager of the Year and Hotel of the Year.
