Greenville, SC – January 23, 2019 – Marriott International, Inc. announced today that a combined 286-suite Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites in Greenville, SC will open January 30, 2019. Located at 200 E. Washington Street, the Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites Greenville Downtown hotels are owned and managed by Auro Hotels of Greenville, SC.

The properties will share an outdoor seasonal swimming pool, a state of the art fitness center that includes Fitness on Demand and Peloton bikes, as well as an exciting bar and restaurant, Oak & Honey, that will be open for lunch and dinner. In addition to Oak & Honey, the hotels will offer a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning. The properties also feature multiple, unique venues, totaling over eleven thousand square feet of flexible meeting and event space.

Foodies will be delighted with the menu at Oak & Honey, featuring tapas such as Smashed Meatloaf Sliders with smoked cheddar, arugula, and chipotle ketchup, or Spicy Chorizo Quesadillas with mango-poblano salsa and caramelized onions. Patrons craving plant based options will enjoy Vegan Nachos with cashew cheese, pickled red onion, guacamole, pico and lime crema. The handcrafted cocktail menu includes selections such as “Honey, I’ll Bee Home Late,” with Absolut Elyx, Aperol, lemon, ginger honey and peach bitters.

The hotel’s unique design was inspired by the beautiful nature of the region. The design team was stirred by South Carolina’s rivers, mountains, and forests, and brought that feel into the project. Nature is reflected in the wood tones and natural materials throughout the hotel. The reception area is anchored with large tree elements that add a wow factor. To guide the guests who want to experience the great outdoors, there will be a “nature concierge” on staff who is knowledgeable about the many special places that are a short distance from the hotel. In addition, guests will have an opportunity to hop on one of the hotel’s complimentary bikes and set off to explore the area.

Located in the heart of downtown Greenville, and 13 miles from GSP International Airport, the hotels offer guests convenient access to 100+ dining options, boutique shopping, the Peace Center, Bon Secours Wellness Arena, Fluor Field, Falls Park on the Reedy, and the Swamp Rabbit Trail. The hotels are also close to BMW Manufacturing, Michelin, General Electric, Fluor, Clemson MBA, and Furman University.

General manager, Jonathan Brashier, said, “My team and I are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful project in the heart of downtown. We know that we have a premium product that visitors and locals alike will enjoy. We can’t wait to welcome our first guest and begin delivering a level of service that is certain to exceed expectations.”

D.J. Rama, President and CEO of Auro Hotels commented, “It is rewarding to have the opportunity to be opening the largest hotel in our hometown of Greenville since 1982. We have an excellent team, and we look forward to watching this property become a home away from home for our guests.”

"Attracting both business and leisure travelers, Greenville is an ideal location for this dual opening," said Janis Milham, senior vice president, Classic Select Brands for Marriott International. "Each brand offers distinct amenities and services that tailor to all visitors."
