BUFFALO, N.Y., Jan. 21, 2015 — Delaware North, one of the largest privately held global hospitality and food service companies in the world, is pleased to announce that it has completed the acquisition of Pine Lodge and the Best Western Rocky Mountain Lodge in Whitefish, Montana.

The acquisitions in Whitefish represent Delaware North’s entry into Montana’s Flathead Valley region. The company has had a presence in Montana for over five years with four lodging options available in West Yellowstone, the gateway destination for Yellowstone National Park.

“The purchase of these lodging accommodations in Whitefish is two-fold – they fit well with our existing portfolio of properties located near iconic destinations, in this case Glacier National Park, and, they’re part of a long-term growth strategy for the business,” said Rick Abramson, president of Delaware North’s parks and resorts business. “We will be making improvements to both properties to enhance the guest experience. The greater focus will be at the Pine Lodge where we will renovate and upgrade key guest touch points including rooms and public spaces.”

Both properties are about 25 miles away from iconic Glacier National Park, allowing visitors to experience a variety of recreational activities including local world-class skiing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, rafting, kayaking and hunting. In addition, frequent festivals and events in Whitefish and an abundance of boutique shops, bars and elegantly-rustic dining are all within walking distance.

  • Pine Lodge is located just steps away from downtown Whitefish and offers comfortable, year-round accommodations for guests traveling through the area. This 76 room, AAA Two Diamond-rated Lodge is situated alongside the Whitefish River and features amenities including a heated indoor-outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center, on-site laundry and meeting space for up to 50 people.
  • Best Western Rocky Mountain Lodge is an AAA Three-Diamond rated hotel ideal for guests looking for a relaxing atmosphere, convenient access to Glacier National Park and minutes from the downtown area. It offers year-round accommodations and features amenities including a heated outdoor pool & hot tub, both open year-round, fitness center, meeting room and conference services and a business center.

With these two new acquisitions, Delaware North’s parks and resorts business now owns and/or operates 40 hotels in 19 locations throughout the U.S. and Australia.
